Dear Families-

On behalf of the Rancho Elementary School faculty and staff, I welcome you and your child to the 2017-2018 school year. We are very much looking forward to joining you and your child on this memorable journey of learning and growing. My passion for educational leadership is deeply rooted in developing the next generation of learners into 21st century scholars who are prepared to contribute in meaningful ways to the increasingly complex world in which they will work and live.

As a community, we will accomplish this goal by setting rigorous academic and high social expectations for each and every child. This summer our teaching staff read, The Leader in Me: How Schools and Parents Around the World Are Inspiring Greatness, One Child At a Time, by Stephen R. Covey. The 7 Habits of Happy Kids will guide paradigm shifts of potential, change, motivation, teaching, learning, and leading at Rancho Elementary. The partnership between our teaching staff and families will be crucial to support the growth and development of each and every student. This past spring, our Stakeholder Team composed of School Site Council, PTA, and ELAC leaders began planning for the 2017-18 school year. Our focus this year is Community Pride! We invite you to join us in this work of making meaningful connections and building positive, healthy relationships among the members of our Rancho Community. Our mission is to offer opportunities for our families to come together and develop a sense of belonging to a greater community. Take a moment to review the included schedule of events for the school year and mark your calendars now. You can also find these events listed on the online school calendar.  Updates and reminders will be sent via classroom communication tools, the Friday Flash, and PTA email blasts throughout the year. Together, we will create a community in which we collectively build the rungs of the ladder for lifelong success.

The elementary years are critical times of development for students and families. We are fortunate to belong to dynamic community where everyone is committed to cultivate an environment where students achieve and believe in themselves and their school.  Please know that my door is always open and your constructive feedback is welcomed. I am confident that this will be an outstanding school year and look forward to working with the staff and community to continue the Rancho tradition of outstanding excellence!

Sincerely,

Angela Kriesler

Principal
