On behalf of the Rancho Elementary School faculty and staff, I welcome you to the 2016-2017 school year. I am very much looking forward to this memorable journey of learning and growing with each and every one of you. I am a Novato native and alumna of the Novato Unified School District. I worked in the district for nine years as a classroom teacher, supervisor for pre-service teachers, mentor for new teachers, instructional coach, Certified Agency Trainer for the Project Guided Language Acquisition by Design Foundation (P.G.I.F.), and Co-Principal of Loma Verde Elementary. I am now starting my second year as principal of Rancho Elementary and am confident that our staff is prepared to offer your children meaningful opportunities for learning and growing in a safe, supportive and caring environment.
My passion for educational leadership is deeply rooted in developing the next generation of learners into 21st century scholars who are prepared to contribute in meaningful ways to the increasingly complex world in which they will work and live. As a community, we will accomplish this goal by setting rigorous academic and high social expectations for each and every child. With a growth mindset, we provide a path for learning that encourages all learners to take risks and reflect on outcomes. Through project-based learning structures, we develop the “6 C’s” of the NUSD Graduate Profile which include: Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking, Conscientious Learning, Cultural Competence, and Character. Our commitment to the social-emotional growth of our students is evident in the expectations instilled in our Eagle Pledge and supported by restorative practices. The partnership between our teaching staff and families is crucial to support the hard work of each and every student. As your child’s first teacher, your involvement in his/her education instills the value of lifelong learning and drives his/her ambition to achieve. Together, we will provide the necessary support structures each child will need to climb the ladder of success.
We invite you to attend our Friday Flag assembly at 8:30am each and every week (weather permitting). We recognize and celebrate the achievements of members in our community, as well as, share important announcements. We hope you will join us!
