SUSTAINABILITY! – Rancho STEAM Showcase                                                                               Science fair

Science can be fun!  Information packets have already gone home in the Friday folders about the Science Fair which takes place on Wednesday evening, February 26, 2020 from 6:00p – 7:00p  in the Multipurpose Room at Rancho.  Science tri-fold boards are optional and available in the school front office and distributed in exchange for signed science project form  with the science project idea.  Participants are eligible from grades Kindergarten through 5th grade.

The science fair included projects that used the scientific method and tested a prediction which was was  appropriate for the former science standards. To align with the new NGSS standards, we needed to  shift our focus to include the Science and Engineering Practices, which targets the problem solving  in science. Projects will include science thinking, technology tools, engineering practices, creative  thinking through the arts, and mathematical analysis. All or aspects of these elements are  integrated and reviewed.

Completed projects will be collected in the multipurpose room on Tuesday, February 25th or at morning drop off BEFORE SCHOOL  on Wednesday, February 26th.  Thank you for parking your car in a VISITOR parking spot if your student needed extra time getting their boards out of your vehicles so the morning traffic will not be disrupted and flow as smoothly as possible!  Please make sure you have read and followed the rules detailed in the packet, as well as to obtain any information you may need.
